OSAM Report Hub is a centralized visualization for Optum Technology’s Transformation MBOs, Measures, and Analytics.

Singular view of yearly progress for a single product team, multiple lines of business, or the entire OT organization. Consolidation point across disparate data sources to provide a holistic view of Agile engineering metrics and performance.

Promotes transparency into organizational performance against Transformation agile metrics & MOVE commitments.

Leveraged by more than 1,305 Prod/Applications and 1,871 teams across Optum Tech

My Role

User Experience Design Lead

I functioned as the design lead, with part-time support from a fellow UX designer in late 2019. I was responsible for coordinating with the product and development teams and overseeing the user experience effort. This included coordinating and scheduling user interviews/tests which completely changed the product development culture while working with the other designer to create wireframes, visual designs, prototypes, and innovative solutions. I worked diligently with the team, gathering and defining requirements from the product owners and ensuring we were aligned with the overall project roadmap.

THE PROCESS

Changing the Culture through Human-Centered Design

The OSAM Reporting Hub has been in OPTUM’s portfolio for a few years and was considered a ‘punishment’ project by past designers. We solicited access to users early in the process to understand the problem better, we kicked off the redesign project with 12 interview sessions with actual users. This allowed the complete team, dev, product, and design to gain alignment and understand how users actually view the current dashboard and what they expected from a redesign.
